The Moorcroft campus was the next expansion for BTI in 1997. It allows service for the entire Powder River Basin as well as Montana, South Dakota, and Nebraska. Moorcroft is a smaller town located 30 miles east of Gillette WY along on Interstate-90. 

 

Located in the mineral rich Powder River Basin, BTI has become a major carrier of ammonium nitrate to the area`s coal mines and additionally hauls hydrochloric acid and brine for the coal bed methane industry.

 

Moorcroft is currently operating two transload sites. The first is located on a rail siding owned by BTI in Moorcroft. It is used in the transportation of bulk commodities for the coal producers of Wyoming. The other site is located in Upton, WY at the Upton Regional Park. At this facility BTI transloads hydrochloric acid used throughout Northeastern Wyoming and surrounding areas in the coal bed methane industry.
