In 1996, a sister company, the Big Horn Divide & Wyoming RR (BDW) was created and is the only operating shortline railroad in Wyoming. With trackage rights on 23 miles of BNSF Railway and 10 miles of its own track including sidings and main line BDW offers significant infrastructure.

BDW's principal business is loading, servicing, and annually switching 5,000 sulfur cars for ConocoPhillips at Lost Cabin, Wyoming. Utilizing E-Tools, BDW partners with BNSF to build unit trains or provide single car service.
